you can download a free version of spy sweeper from webroot and it will help. you may have some that are buried deeper in your machine that you will need to dig deeper to get, such as cleaning out your registry and start-up folders. also, switch to the firefox browser, it's much more secure and blocks the damn pop-ups very well. good luck.

another vote for firefox. as said it's not a virus it's spyware. spy sweeper is great but it's not free. I guess you can get the demo. get adaware (not adware) and spybot. both are free and should find lots of stuff if you have never ran any spyware tools. again ditch IE and get firefox.

yeah, i have the free version of spy sweeper and it does a decent job of cleaning stuff up even though it can't get updates. it's worth using that in addition to ad-aware or spybot, which seem to miss stuff.

Definitely go with Firefox. It is a much better web browser than IE. I can't sing enough praises about Firefox.
