Re: verbatim vs. fuji
very simple rule of thumb:
made in japan = good
made in taiwan/china/anywhere else = bad
regardless of company name.

Re: verbatim vs. fuji
Fuji's used to be real good until they started making them in Taiwan. Wouldn't use them at all nowadays. The Verbatim's are real nice but I will only use their products for blank DVDR's.
If you want quality, reliable, no coaster blanks I ONLY use Taiyo Yuden discs. Cascade Media has them for a heck of a deal.

Re: verbatim vs. fuji vs., et al.
Sooo..........All my shows are recorded on to either Maxell, Memorex, Sony and Imation. Which brand's should I avoid in the near future. It is too late to replace hundreds of shows, but if I can treat the music to better discs, let me know. My boss uses Verbatim on all his backup, and they seem to work fine. I always thought that fuji discs were bad news. It goes to show yall what I really know and what I am oblivious too.

I would go for the silver/white printable ones:
http://www.cascademedia.net/product...=76&prodid=1040
They are $8 more, but I have found the plain silver top scratch too easily on the top. The printable surface provides an extra thick top layer that protects the foil better. IMHO

Re: verbatim vs. fuji
Hey folks,
here is a good link for taiyo yudens, a special for music traders.
I have ordered over 1000 cd's from this link and have been very happy.
They come very quickly and shipping is only a few dollars.
A spindle of 100 is $25 (for the silver-the white ones are $32 +shipping) with shipping it comes to $28.00 (less if I order multiple spindles), and my last order was placed on a wednesday and received on friday!!

This is the company I use too. I think Keith orginally posted a link to this. Thanks Keith.
They are always on time!
edit: out of 2000+ discs, I have had 0 bad discs. Go for the white/silver printable ones, worth the extra $

Personally, the only ones out of that group I'd use are Sony's. Fujis seem to work pretty well for me, as do TDKs. Never had much problem with any of those three.

People flame the ole mini disc, but I have been very pleased with it for playback purposes. I am terrible with discs and the md seems to have been invented for my non taking care of cd's ass ...plus they erase just fine if a show blows or a 2003 tour

Re: verbatim vs. fuji
I've had no problems whatsovever with Verbatim. Love 'em, and seem to be very high quality, especially the Verbatim Data Life.
