I know sam holt is the guitar tech for panic and everything, and I got much respect for his talent, and I even sat next to him on a flight back from berkeley one year, very nice guy, but what is up with the PANIC covers???? shouldn't that be left to WP? It just seems that outformation is absolutley riding on the cotetailes of WP, It lookes like outformation is trying to be some sort of refuse for George haters. It's almost like "If you like Mikey panic and hate George panic, check out Outformation, there guitarist sounds just like old school Mikey." Anyone else's opinion is welcome, I am curious if anyone feels like I do, or mabye I'm by myself on this one.

i think sam plays those songs as a tribute to mikey. kinda like jerry joseph was playing airplane and you got yours. they are some of mikeys best work, and panic is not really playing the instrumentals. these guys are definitely not riding panics coattails. they have their own gig, and they are not opening for panic or playing post panic shows and taking advantage of the panic fans.

i have spoke with lee and grady several times and i dont think either are even panic fans. is panic riding jerry's coattails by playing north and climb to safety as part of their regular rotation for the last six years?? no, they just like the songs and play them because they came from a good friend and someone they look up to, probably the same way sam feels about michael.

you're dillusional, man. i'm pretty sure they only cover some instrumentals. why continue the george vs. mikey argument? if Houser personally taught you any tunes, feel free to play 'em.

as far the archive goes, here's the how to info:
http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-...age=upload_info
you really gotta dot all your i's and crosss all your t's, but it's worth it. and please allow lossy compression, so folks can hear it anywhere!

haha, good point.

Whether you like 'em or not, the truth is these guys do write their own songs and are trying to make a go at it. That's more than I can say for many of us sitting here bitchin' about shit at our computers. And I'll say that about bands I do or don't like....if they are writing their own songs, a band is trying. Bands cover other artists all the time...Neil Young, what have you... people that usually touched them in some way. Mikey just directly happened to influence Sam. Does that mean because of his job the guy can't get out there and play? Obviously he was interested in music to get the gig.

And for me personally, I might not like all of their songs or I might find weaknesses (I find strengths too) in the band, but Sam can play that guitar the way I like it....and I'll take his guitar playing over many other guitarists any day of the week.

i think outformation is great. raw and they seem to have some good potential. and, i will listen to mikey's rig any f-in' day of the week, and sam does it complete justice.

I can...I just finished transferring it and it needs a little EQ and some pops removed...the bass is a little lacking but everything else sounds pretty good. I'll try to finish it tonight.

Mark, man, sorry for the name mishap. I have heard your name before, and would have introduced myself after the show had I known. I thought Scotty G. (guy you stayed with) told me Hudd. Enjoyed the show & thanks for playing in O-town.
